The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) will be organizing the 51st Edition of the Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race on 24th December 2024, starting at 6:30 AM at the main police point in Mokokchung Town. Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC and CEO of MMC, has encouraged all wards to actively participate in the race, which will be held in the spirit of joy and peace, while adhering to the guidelines provided.

The race is open exclusively to legitimate residents of the Mokokchung Municipality’s various wards. Each participating team must consist of 11 runners, with 2 girls and 9 boys. Notably, the first and second runners must be female competitors. A list of participants, signed by the ward authority in the specified format, must be submitted to the technical committee by 20th December 2024. All participants are required to report to the main police point by 6:00 AM on the day of the race.

Military personnel and uniformed officers will not be permitted to participate in the race. Teams that cross marked lanes or improperly throw batons will be disqualified. Chest numbers will be assigned through a draw of lots. The winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive certificates and cakes, while all participating teams will receive cakes as consolation prizes.
