): Organized by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mokokchung, the 70th All India Co-Operative Week was observed under the theme “The Role of Cooperatives in Making India a $5 Trillion Economy and Achieving SDGs” at Sangtemla Multi-Purpose Hall, Mokokchung, today, 17th November 2023.
Addressing the gathering as the Guest of Honour, ADC, Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, said that the force in making a society strong and moving forward is through the culture of cooperation and working collectively. He mentioned that out of the many registered societies in the district, if at least half of them are active, it would surely be a thriving force to lead the community/society to another level. He emphasized that, in order to fulfill the objective of the Department of Cooperative Societies, it is not only the efforts of the employees alone that matter but also the active role and participation of the community, which is vital. He urged individuals and societies to be prompt in repaying any loans availed from the bank to progress collectively.
Short speeches were delivered by the Deputy District Agriculture Officer, Maongsangla, and the Manager of NSCB Ltd., Mokokchung. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS), Mokokchung, Imtionen, while the program was chaired by Inspector, Cooperative Societies (ICS), Mokokchung, Meyilemla Pongen.
