Mokokchung, August 30 (MTNews): The president of the BJP Mokokchung District, Imolemba Jamir, stated today while speaking at a party event that Mokokchung district should be allotted at least four BJP tickets as per the seat sharing arrangement. It may be mentioned that Mokokchung district was allotted two BJP tickets in the last state assembly elections, both of which won their respective seats. As per the NDPP-BJP seat-sharing deal, the NDPP will contest in 40 assembly constituencies while BJP will contest in 20 assembly constituencies for election to the 60-member Nagaland legislative assembly.

Imolemba, while delivering the keynote address at the BJP Mokokchung District ‘one-day workshop on good public leadership’ at Multipurpose Hall, near AR helipad, said that if Dimapur with five assembly constituencies can be allotted three NDPP tickets, and two BJP tickets, then Mokokchung district with ten assembly constituencies should be allotted at least four BJP tickets as per the seat sharing arrangement.

Further, he went on to say that if the 40/20 seat-sharing deal between the two parties should be accepted, then it is ‘commonsense’ that “60 percent of Municipal seats should be reserved for BJP in the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies/Town Committees.”

He also said that the people of Mokokchung should think in “political terms” and also mentioned that he respects the decisions of the high command, the BJP and its alliance partner NDPP.

As per a press release from the BJP Mokokchung District Media Cell, the president of BJP Mokokchung District also said that the BJP is “prepared to face the political scenario of Nagaland.”

The press release also said that the ‘one-day workshop on good public leadership’ was held with Rev Dr. I Imkong Jamir (World Aid Mission) and senior journalist and writer Aso Imsong as the main resource persons.

Aso Imsong, speaking on the topic ‘traits and characteristics of a good leader’ said that a good leader should have vision, be hardworking, be a good communicator, have a good lifestyle and be humble.

Rev. Dr. Imkong Jamir, speaking on the topic ‘roles and responsibilities of a public leader – do’s and don’ts’ said that a leader should be a motivator, a guider and a person who garners public support and should have self-awareness to lead the people.

“Both the resource persons asserted that it was the first time that they were speaking at a leadership workshop organized by a political party. They hoped that it will be a starting point where leaders will interface, learn and lead the people,” the press note said.

“On the day, the BJP Mokokchung district office also handed out appointment orders to different capacities in the party organizational set up,” it added.

BJP Mokokchung District president wished all the newly appointed officers in the BJP set-up the very best and encouraged them to work for the welfare of the people. Meanwhile, the 26 Aonglenden Mandal also handed out appointment orders to newly inducted officers/executives on the day.
