Mokokchung, 8 March (MTNews): A six-day Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) on the topic “Poultry Production and Management” was organized at Sungkomen, Mokokchung district from 2-8 March 2024.
The training was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and State Agriculture Management and Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland.
The training program was organized with the aim of imparting skill-based training to rural youths on agro-based vocation areas in compliance with national policy skill development and entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied areas in rural areas. The details of candidates were uploaded in the MANAGE portal to obtain the TP (Training program number) before the commencement of the training program with TP no. 3993.
The program was held at Sungkomen Baptist Church, Mokokchung where participants of both sexes in the age group of 18 to 30 years participated. During the inaugural program chaired by Imtisenla Longkumer, ACTO (Agronomy), the welcome address was delivered by Dr Sarendi Walling, ACTO (Animal Science). The keynote address was delivered by Dr Keviletsu Khate, Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mokokchung. Invocation was done by Matsung Longkumer, Asst. Pastor, SBC before the commencement of the program.
The training program was conducted with practical classes so that participants develop skills on various management of poultry farming practices. Altogether, 24 participants consisting of 16 males and 08 females took part in the training programme and received certificates.
