The Mokokchung District Veteran Football Association (MDVFA) will participate in the upcoming 11th edition of the All Nagaland Veteran Football Tournament, a competition it has consistently dominated over the years.
A delegation comprising 23 members from the MDVFA set out from the District Youth Resource Office on Saturday for the tournament scheduled to take place from 26 to 29 February in Chümoukedima.
Limanungsang Jamir, the General Secretary of MDVFA, stated that the association has clinched the tournament championship five times and secured the runner-up position four times in the past ten editions. In preparation for the upcoming event, the team has undergone intensive coaching at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex under the guidance of President MDVFA and Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, Manoj Kumar A, IPS, since 5 February.
The contingent is led by Team Manager L Yanger Lemtur and Team Coach P Imsu Jamir, who is also the Vice-President of MDVFA.
