The Mokokchung men’s and women’s volleyball teams, each comprising 12 players, left for the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 on 14 February.
The Mokokchung volleyball contingent is led by Noksangtemba as the manager, with Satemmongba as the women’s team coach and Rongsentoshi as the men’s team coach.
The volleyball event will be held in a league-cum-knockout format, with 15 districts competing in both categories. The districts are divided into four pools each, and the top two teams from each pool will proceed to the knockout stages.
In the men’s category, Mokokchung is grouped with Longleng, Wokha, and Tuensang in Pool A, while in the women’s category, it is grouped with Peren, Phek, and Shamator.
The Mokokchung men’s team will play their first game against Longleng on Thursday, while the women’s team will play their first game against Peren on the same day.
The volleyball event for the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 commences at 9 am at Arena D, from 15th to 17th February.
