Phek, February 21 (MTNews): Just days after reports of rift between pre-poll alliance partners NDPP and BJP in 43 Tapi AC made news with the NDPP unit alleging a “blatant violation of alliance principle” by the constituency’s Bharatiya Janata Party unit, more reports of cracks in the NDPP-BJP alliance are appearing.

In the latest development, the BJP leaders of 19 Phek Assembly Constituency have resolved to extent its support to NPF candidate Kuzholuzo Nienu after alleging that the NDPP party and its candidate “has not shown any keenness or inclination to coordinate with the BJP leaders and Karyakartas despite our best efforts.”

The president and general secretary of the BJP, 19 Phek AC on Tuesday stated in a press release that “several efforts and attempts to join forces with the NDPP in order to extend assistance and support” were made but the NDPP party and its candidate showed no “keenness or inclination” to coordinate with the BJP leaders.

Further, the 19 Phek AC BJP leaders stated that, “due to their indifference and lukewarm response in taking initiative to collaborate” and failing to take them into confidence, they were left with no option but to extend its support to Kuzholuzo Nienu, NPF candidate of 19 A/C Phek, “whose position is emerging leading amongst the contenders, while still maintaining our stand and its entity as a Party.”
