Wokha, December 22 (MTNews): The Wokha District Congress Committee successfully organized the welcome program of N. Wobenthung Lotha (Retd. Joint Director, School Education, Nagaland) joining the Indian National Congress party on December 21 at District Congress Committee office Wokha, where all District Congress Committee, Assembly Congress Committee, Mahila, and youth wing along with several well wishers, members including newly inducted officials attended the function and had unanimously decided to extend full support to N. Wobenthung Lotha as Congress Candidate for 38 A/C Wokha in the ensuing general election 2023.
In his welcome address, N. Wobenthung Lotha firmly stated that his candidature as a Congressman was never accidental but a well planned and firm resolution in line with the party belief and ideology of Unity, Integrity and Secularism that the oldest political party in the country holds thus far. He also fully endorsed and supports the capability and principles of both congress veterans K. Therie and Dr S.C Jamir who against all odds have ushered in an era of peace and development working on the moral value of forgiveness. He therefore urged the gathering to be resolute and steadfast in one’s own decision making.
Wobenthung Lotha also stressed on the judicious use of District plan funding based on public grievances priority and when elected as the district MLA will unwaveringly work for the up-liftment of the downtrodden leaving no stone unturned in bringing equality, justice and all round development of Wokha District. In his concluding address, he assured the party workers and supporters that his induction as Congress candidate is a lifetime membership and will surely guide the party to victory bringing in progressive development of a responsible government in the future.
Short speeches were delivered by Sacheo Murry President 38 AC, Wokha; Chantsuthung Kikon PCC member 37 AC Tyui; and Yanjamo Ovung PCC member 39 AC Sanis.
The program was chaired by Thungchanbemo Ezung general secretary DCC Wokha, with an innovation said by R. Limathung Odyuo Congress President, 37 AC Tyui, while vote of thanks was pronounced by Nkhao Tungoe President District Youth Congress Wokha.
