Mokokchung, June 9 (MTNews): The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Nagaland has said that, with the occurrence of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the State, clarity on various pig diseases appears to be lacking amongst the public. Hence, the department has issued a press release “to clarify and end the confusion of pig diseases, especially African Swine Fever, Classical Swine Fever and Swine Flu.”

 

The AH&VS department has in a press release informed the general public of the difference in the above three diseases (Details below). “This is being issued to enable the public & piggery farmers to take the necessary precautionary measures from the pigs as well as from a zoonotic point of view,” the press release said.
