A school-level essay writing competition marking five years of the Ministry of Cooperation was held on June 30 at the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) office complex in Meriema, Kohima, as part of the ongoing Cooperative Week Celebration (Coops Day).

The programme aimed to raise awareness among students about the significance of the cooperative movement. The competition was held on the theme, “Cooperatives for a Peaceful World: Strengthening Communities through Cooperation, Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development.”

According to the organisers, the theme underscores the role of cooperatives in promoting economic justice, social harmony, democratic participation and sustainable development, thereby contributing to a peaceful and prosperous world.
