Nagaland Football Association Election: President and Secretary positions retained unopposed

Following the scrutiny of nominations for the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) Executive Committee elections, K Neibou Sekhose has been declared the unopposed candidate for the position of President for the 2025-2029 term.

With no other contenders for the President and Secretary posts, both Sekhose and Benei Lamthiu have been deemed eligible for the respective roles of President and General Secretary. The Returning Officer confirmed this after reviewing a total of 11 nominations for various positions within the Executive Committee.

Similarly, Kiyeka S Sumi has been confirmed as the Senior Vice President, as no other candidates filed for the post.

For the Treasurer position, K Edward Ngullie, who had initially filed his nomination, withdrew his candidacy at the last moment, making Roko Angami the Treasurer.

The elections for the following positions are set to be contested:

Vice President: Meyisanger Lemtur, Mughato Aye, and Colo Mero.

Joint Secretary: Imli Sunup, Shahoto Yimchunger, and Chenonlo Woch.

The electoral college for the upcoming NFA elections has also been announced. The list includes representatives from various district football associations across Nagaland. The representatives are:

•Kiphire District Football Association: Not received
•Kohima District Football Association: M. Mathew Yhome, President KDFA

•Mokokchung District Football Association: N. Akok Longkumer, President, MDFA
•Mon District Football Association: Hanlong L Konyak, MDFA
•Football Association Meluri District: Wasatho Poji, President FAMD
•Niuland District Football Association: Vito Sumi, President NDFA
•Football Association Noklak District: K. Okie Khiamniungan, President FAND
•Peren District Football Association: Tuntan Dailiam, Circle Secretary PDFA
•Football Association Phek District: Vekhozo, General Secy. FAPD
•Shamator District Football Association: Ashokhiung, Secretary SDFA
•Football Association Tseminyu District: Benlo Thyu, President FATD
•Tuensang District Football Association: Yangdipi Sangtam, President TDFA
•Wokha District Football Association: Zubenthung Ovung, General Secretary WDFA
•Zunheboto District Football Association: Inoka Yepthomi, President ZDFA

The election for the aforementioned positions will be held soon, with the electoral college playing a key role in determining the new leadership of the NFA.
