Nagaland Governor meets PM Modi; holds talks on roads, agriculture with Union ministers

Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi following his appointment as the Governor of Nagaland.

During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Ganesan presented Modi with a traditional Naga shawl as a mark of honour.

The Governor also met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, during which they discussed road infrastructure and other contemporary issues concerning Nagaland.

In a separate meeting with Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan, discussions focused on the agriculture sector and rural development in the state.

According to a statement, the meeting also reaffirmed a commitment to the sustainable development and welfare of Nagaland’s farmers and rural communities.

Sharing details of the meetings, the Governor said he had paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister following his appointment and held “meaningful discussion” with the Union ministers on issues concerning the state, including roads, agriculture and rural development.
