Mokokchung, June 17 (MTNews): Nagaland deputy CM and Home Minister, Y Patton said today that Nagaland has acute shortage of All India Services. He said this while speaking at the felicitation program of UPSC successful candidates, Viku L Achumi and Imsennaro Walling, at Dimapur on Friday organized by the Central Nagaland Students’ Association.

It may be mentioned that the All India Services (AIS) comprises two central civil services: the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service along with one central natural resources service: Indian Forest Service.

On the occasion, Patton also suggested that the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) and its federating units have a “common annual CNTC meritorious awards program in a bigger way.”

Patton also congratulated the two successful UPSC candidates. “It is a proud moment for us and for the state of Nagaland as we celebrate the victory of our son and daughter from the Central Naga Tribe,” he said, further adding that it is not easy to crack UPSC exams where lakhs of aspirants compete intensely every year.

As the two successful candidates join the All India Services, he urged them to take up whatever assignments or place of posting be with a sense of satisfaction and joy. “Our state has an acute shortage of All India Services.

As such, even if you don’t get initial Home cadre, the state will certainly need your services in later years and I am confident that a request will be made at the right time for your deputation as and when required,” he added.
