A total of eight well-equipped Multi-Media Mobile Vehicles were flagged off by Advisor IPR & Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, at Nagaland Civil Secretariat plaza, Kohima, on Wednesday. The event was organized by the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), where eight District Public Relations Officers (DPROs) received brand-new vehicles equipped with multimedia facilities.

Speaking at the event, Advisor Imkong L Imchen said that the field officers of the IPR department serve as nodal officers for various departments, disseminating government policies and programs to the people. Imchen reminded the officers to unite for the singular purpose of advancing the upliftment and development of the state’s residents. He urged them to diligently perform their assigned duties and utilize the new vehicles and other facilities to serve the people and disseminate government activities even in the remotest parts of the state. Imchen also expressed gratitude to the state government for allocating funds for the Multi-Media Mobile Vehicles.

Director of IPR, Dzuvinuo Theunuo, briefly explained the project’s concept, stating that the department recognized the need to deploy these multi-media mobile vehicles across districts and at the directorate to enhance its activities amid increasing demands for information dissemination. Theunuo highlighted that these vehicles will broadcast various awareness campaigns, educational videos, documentaries, and public service announcements.

She noted that the vehicles are equipped with projectors, screens, laptops, and all-in-one sound systems for easy operation, facilitating timely announcements and information dissemination throughout the state.

She further mentioned that in the first phase, eight districts — namely Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Phek, and Wokha — were covered, with plans to extend coverage to the remaining districts and the directorate within the current year.

Development Commissioner and Principal Secretary of Justice & Law, R Ramakrishnan, IAS; Secretary of Information & Public Relations, Bhagyashree B Banayat, IAS; and officers and staff of the IPR secretariat and directorate attended the program. The allocated funds were fully utilized for the intended purpose.
