Mokokchung, 16 January (MTNews): The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has informed that, as informed earlier, the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 is scheduled to take place from the 12th to the 17th of February 2024. This sporting extravaganza will be held across two districts – Dimapur and Chümoukedima. The venues of the events and details of the competitions will be notified separately, the NOA informed.
Sports enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing competition in the following sports disciplines: Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Lawn Tennis, Pencak Silat, SepakTakraw, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Belt Wrestling, Wrestling, and Wushu.
The Games will also feature paralympic sports in our quest to promote inclusivity, diversity and ensure promotion of the Paralympic sports. The events under these categories will not be based on inter-district teams, NOA informed.
It was informed that the registration of players and teams will be done electronically online. The registration link for the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games are now Open. The last date for the registration of players and team officials will be 29 January 2024. It may be noted that once players are registered, there will be no change of names.
NOA said that the Games Organizing Committee will provide accommodation, local transport, food and technical competition arrangements in the host city. The dates for arrival and departure will be notified separately, it added.
