In a Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2023-24 encounter, Nagaland’s Under-23 cricket team showcased exceptional skills, securing a resounding victory against Sikkim by an innings and 202 runs in Mining, Sikkim. Nagaland won the toss and opted to bat, setting the stage for a compelling match.

In their first innings, Nagaland batsmen exhibited brilliance as Afzal (125 runs), Nchumbemo (83 runs), Mughavi (77 runs), and Neizekho (37* runs) collectively contributed to a formidable total of 425 runs, with the team declaring at the cost of 9 wickets. Sikkim’s Robin Limboo fought back valiantly, claiming 3 crucial wickets.

Facing Nagaland’s imposing score, Sikkim faltered in their first innings. Robin Limboo, with an unbeaten 55 runs, and Denree (26 runs) were the standout performers as Sikkim managed only 143 runs, succumbing to Nagaland’s bowling attack. Neizekho led the charge with 6 wickets, while Raja and Hem contributed with 2 wickets each.

With a substantial lead, Nagaland enforced the follow-on, putting Sikkim to bat again. However, Sikkim faced another collapse, managing only 80 runs in their second innings. Neizekho continued his exceptional bowling form, securing 5 wickets, while Raja scalped 3 wickets. This led to Sikkim’s downfall, and Nagaland emerged victorious.
