The Nagaland Police has reiterated the importance of its 1930 Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Management and Reporting System (CFCFRMS), a helpline launched on February 1, 2022, to assist victims of cyber financial fraud.

The helpline allows victim(s) of cyber financial fraud to report their complaint by giving details of the debited/credited accounts, amount of money lost and transaction details.

“On giving the complaint, the Bank Account/e-wallets of the fraudsters can be frozen immediately. Legal mechanism for reimbursing the lien amount can be availed if money is blocked from the fraudsters account,” the police stated.

Since the launch of the helpline, 943 complaints have been received in Nagaland, reporting a total loss of Rs 8.84 crore. Of this, the police have successfully frozen Rs 1.20 crore across 2006 fraudulent accounts, preventing further financial damage.

The Nagaland Police has advised that victims of cyber financial fraud to immediately call 1930 and report their complaint before the fraudsters spend or transfer the money, while simultaneously reporting to the nearest police station.
