Kohima, 20 June (MTNews): Nagaland Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye called on Union Minister of Power RK Singh today and apprised him of the power scenario in Nagaland.
According to reports, Kenye appreciated the Union Minister’s genuine concerns and assurance to assist the state in various aspects which are available to bring the state at par with the rest of the country and improve the situation.
“Progress of renewable energy, including development of hydro projects in Nagaland, was discussed in detail,” the official Twitter handle of RK Singh’s office later tweeted. Kenye was assured of Central assistance towards the state’s development in the power sector, it added.
The state Minister also met Union Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal yesterday. The Union Minister was apprised of the constitutional position of the Article 371(A) and its relevance to the various aspects of the situation in the state of Nagaland with special reference to the Customary, Religious and Social practices of the Naga people.
