Kohima, 29 May (MTNews): The State Tobacco Control Cell, Nagaland, has urged all schools to observe World No Tobacco Day on May 31st. In a press release, it stated that the World Health Organization has emphasized the theme “Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference” for this year.
Schools have been asked to organize a short program or allocate a few minutes during the assembly to inform students about this year’s theme and the importance of making school environments tobacco-free.
The release highlighted the critical importance of shielding children from the manipulative tactics of the tobacco industry. The cell noted the crucial role of schools in fostering a healthier, tobacco-free environment for students and called for widespread participation.
