Two-day TXG Expo 2026 to bring competitive gaming, game development, technology, careers and creative showcases under one roof
Nagaland is set to host its first dedicated technology and gaming expo, with the Nagaland E-Sports Society (NES) organising the Tech X Gaming Expo (TXG) 2026 at the NBCC Convention Hall in Kohima on August 28 and 29.
Organised in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland, the two-day expo will bring competitive gaming, game development, technology exhibitions, education, career opportunities and the creator economy onto a single platform, with the organisers seeking to establish TXG as an annual event and position Nagaland as an emerging gaming and innovation hub in the Northeast.
Held under the theme, “Where Technology, Gaming and Culture Converge,” TXG is being conceived as more than a gaming tournament. The event is designed to connect esports and competitive gaming with game development, technology, career guidance, education, entrepreneurship, creative performance and digital career pathways.
The organisers said the expo will provide students, local developers, creators, startups and employers with opportunities for industry exposure, skill-building, mentorship and networking without having to travel to larger metropolitan centres for such engagements.
A key feature of TXG will be its competitive gaming programme, which will have three major tracks, each carrying a prize pool of Rs 1 lakh. These include an Inter-College Championship for teams from colleges across Nagaland and an Open MOBA 5v5 tournament, both based on Mobile Legends. A Mini Tournaments series will also feature quick-play competitions in EA Sports FC 26, Clash Royale, Tekken 8, Dirt Rally 2.0, Street Fighter 6 and Ludo King.
The competitive matches will feature live streaming, shoutcasters and broadcast-quality production, adding a professional esports experience to the event.
Beyond the competition arena, the Game Development Showcase will provide local developers and students with a platform to present games, technology demonstrations and innovation concepts. The expo will also host Career Discussions, bringing industry experts together for panel discussions, skill workshops, career guidance and question-and-answer sessions.
The organisers said the wider technology ecosystem will be represented through exhibitions, an Innovation Hub, interactive zones and dedicated networking spaces. Interactive displays will provide hands-on experiences through gaming demonstrations and product showcases.
Adding a creative and cultural element to the expo, a Cosplay Competition will feature a costume contest, performance stage and photo zones. Registration will also be open to cosplayers, vendors and exhibitors.
The organisers emphasised that the technologies powering modern gaming, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing and real-time graphics, are increasingly central to the wider digital economy. By bringing these areas together with education, entrepreneurship and creative industries, TXG aims to create a platform where young people can explore pathways beyond traditional gaming.
The event is being supported by departments of the Government of Nagaland and institutional partners including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), NIELIT, YouthNet, NE8 and Nagaland Tourism.
The organisers described TXG as a credible and scalable annual property intended to contribute to Nagaland’s growing digital youth ecosystem and strengthen the state’s presence in India’s gaming, technology and creative economy.
