The Nagaland Basketball Association has confirmed the participation of its men’s team in the 1st U23 3×3 National Basketball Championship, scheduled to be held from June 12 to 14, 2025, at the Regional Sports Centre in Kochi, Kerala. Organised by the Kerala Basketball Association under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India, the championship will feature top under-23 basketball talent from across the country in the high-intensity 3×3 format.
Representing Nagaland in this prestigious national tournament are Neisezo Theunuo, Sedeneituo Kuotsu, Benhilo Lorin, and Cuwe Mero. The Association noted that the players have been selected based on performance and potential, and expressed confidence that the team will compete strongly against the nation’s best.
The Nagaland Basketball Association has been actively promoting basketball across the state, with a particular focus on developing youth talent. It stated that participation in this event marks a major step forward for basketball in Nagaland and is expected to provide invaluable exposure to the players.
The U23 3×3 format, which made its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, is known for its fast pace and shorter game duration. The Association hopes the team’s participation will inspire more young athletes in Nagaland to take up the sport competitively.
