In his address, Prof. MK Sinha highlighted the economic impact of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He noted that since its inception, the initiative has been a significant driver of the Indian economy, citing relevant statistics. The program has not only created job opportunities but has also contributed to the health and productivity of the workforce, enhancing overall economic performance. Prof. Sinha underscored that the cleanliness and sanitation efforts supported by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan have positively influenced Indian tourism, generating a revenue of 233.64 crore rupees. Additionally, the mission has led to reduced pollution and environmental degradation, and has lowered healthcare costs. Citing a World Bank estimate that poor sanitation costs India 6 percent of its GDP annually, Prof. Sinha affirmed that these losses have been mitigated by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
