Team India clinch 2 Silver, 7 Bronze Medals
Team Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) returned home safely today with a historic medal win at the Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship 2025, held in Delhi from May 21 to 26, 2025.

According to the NWA Media Cell, Team India secured a total of 2 Silver and 7 Bronze Medals during the championship. Notably, Team NWA contributed 1 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals to Team India’s tally — a first-of-its-kind achievement for Nagaland in an international wrestling championship.
Team NWA contingent included 15 athletes, 1 UWW-nominated referee, 1 newly observed referee, and 7 officials, all of whom represented India during the week-long championship.
The NWA extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Nagaland for its financial and logistical support, and to the Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports (YR&S) for financial assistance. Special thanks were also conveyed to Dr. Keneilhouthoulie Miachio, Chief Conservator of Forests, Durg Circle, for graciously hosting a dinner in honour of the team.
