Nagaland wrestling team returns with record- breaking 54 medals from National Championship

The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) team returned from Dehradun and reached Dimapur on October 10, 2024, after participating in the 12th AITWPF Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Championship 2024, held from October 3 to 6, 2024, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The team was received by NWA officials at Dimapur Railway Station, and a lunch was hosted by NWA President Vivolie Kezo at his Dimapur residence. A short program was also held, after which the team left for Kohima, NWA medial cell informed.


At the recently concluded National Championship, the NWA team won 27 Gold medals, 17 Silver medals, and 10 Bronze medals, totaling 54 medals for Team Nagaland. According to NWA records, this is the highest number of medals ever won by Team Nagaland at any National Championship in any form of Wrestling.
