Yoto Chizo, a skilled Muay Thai athlete from Nagaland, bagged a bronze medal at the East Asian Muaythai Championship 2024, held in Wan Chai City, Hong Kong, from November 28 to December 1, an update received here said.

The Indian National Muaythai Team, led by Coach Hemavi from StrikeFit Academy, Nagaland, competed valiantly.

Among the 10 Indian athletes, Yoto emerged as one of the medalists, while a fellow athlete from Nagaland, Aboto Ayemi, was eliminated in the first round.

The Indian team displayed an impressive performance, securing a total of six medals: one silver and five bronze.

Meanwhile, upon his arrival at Dimapur Airport today, Yoto Chizo was accorded a warm welcome by the Western Chakhesang Hoho, Western Chakhesang Students’ Union, Western Chakhesang Women’s Association, and Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation.
