Ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JP Nadda, is scheduled to touch down in Nagaland to spearhead the campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on 13 April.

The campaign venue is set at the Agri Expo grounds in Chümoukedima District. Chairing the event will be Abu Metha, Member Secretary of the PDA Election Committee and Secretary General of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).

A constellation of prominent political figures is slated to grace the campaign. Among them are Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio; Deputy Chief Ministers TR Zeliang and Y Patton; Chingwang Konyak – Chairman of the PDA and President of the NDPP; Benjamin Yepthomi – Co-Chairman of the PDA and President of the BJP Nagaland; Nalin Kohli – National Spokesperson of the BJP and In-charge of Nagaland; Moatoshi Longkumer – MLA & Advisor; and N Jacob Zhimomi – Minister. Together, they will rally support for the PDA consensus candidate, Dr Chumben Murry.

Joining forces with the BJP and NDPP, other political stalwarts from various parties are also set to deliver speeches. These include Er Picto, MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP); Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA from the National People’s Party (NPP); Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA from the Naga People’s Front (NPF); Y Lima Onen Chang, MLA from the Republican Party of India (Athavale); Dr Sukhato A Sema, MLA from the Lok Janshakti Party (Rashtriya Vikas Party); and Jwenga Seb, MLA from the Janata Dal (United).

Advisor H Tovihoto Ayemi is slated to extend the welcome address. Hekani Jakhalu, MLA and Advisor will deliver the vote of thanks.
