NBSE and NSACS to conduct training under Adolescence Education Program

Kohima, 5 September (MTNews): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) will be jointly conducting a one-day training program under the Adolescence Education Program (AEP) for Kohima and Tseminyu teachers on 12 September 2023 from 9:30 AM to 2:45 PM at Red Cross Society, Conference Hall, Kohima.

 

Further, the same will be conducted through online mode for teachers under Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Kiphire, Longleng, Peren, Noklak and Shamator districts on 15 September 2023 from 10:00AM to 12:30PM.

The Adolescence Education Program (AEP) is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Department of School Education & Literacy, and the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Government of India, to equip every adolescent (Child between 10-19 years) with scientific information, knowledge, and life-skills to protect themselves from HIV infection and manage their concerns pertaining to reproductive and sexual health. AEP covers all the secondary and higher secondary schools in the country. In Nagaland, the NSACS has been conducting training programs for teachers under AEP since 2010. Some of the areas to be discussed under this training include HIV/AIDS and STI; HIV & AIDS (P&C), Act 2017; Growing up and Adolescence Reproductive Sexual Health; and Mental Health and Substance Abuse.

 

All the Heads of Registered Institutions under Kohima and Tseminyu districts have been requested to take note of the importance of this training and depute one teacher to attend the meeting positively. TA will be paid as per NSACS norms.

 

It also informed all the Heads of Registered Institutions under Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Phek, Wokha, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Kiphire, Longleng, Peren, Noklak and Shamator districts to take note of the importance of this training and depute one teacher to attend the online meeting positively.

 

Further, it was informed that the registration link for the training program will be shared later in the district WhatsApp groups and email ID of the schools. The attendance of teachers from all the registered schools is compulsory and will be monitored, it said.
