The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2026, a day ahead of the scheduled date of April 24. The board stated that the early declaration was necessitated due to a technical issue related to the timer system.

However, it was informed that the date for collection of documents will remain as notified on April 18, while the provisional marksheet will be available on the website on April 24.

Girls outperformed boys, with 8,888 girls qualifying compared to 7,518 boys. The Top 20 list included 80 candidates, of which 57 were girls and 23 boys.

In terms of school performance, private schools recorded a pass percentage of 86.13, while government schools stood at 43.26. Among government schools, Kohima district recorded the highest pass percentage at 63, followed by Mokokchung at 55. Among private schools, Mokokchung and Phek districts topped with 92.

The HSLC examinations were conducted from February 13 to 26, while the HSSLC examinations were held from February 12 to March 9.

The board has informed that candidates failing in four or fewer subjects are eligible to appear for the compartmental examinations. Both compartmental and improvement examinations will be conducted in June 2026. Applications can be submitted online through the board’s portal from May 11 to 16.

In Vocational Education, Benjongsenla of Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba was recognized in Tourism and Hospitality. Shilunungtet of Subong Government High School, Mongsenyimti received the Governor’s Award among government school students.

The district recorded a qualified percentage of 85.77 in HSLC, with girls again outperforming boys.
