NBSE to conduct district-level talent search examination on September 10

The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) is set to hold the Stage 1: District Level Examination of the State Talent Search Examination (STSE) in Mathematics and Science on September 10, 2024. The examination will take place across 16 district headquarters, including Medziphema. A total of 5,692 Class IX students from 236 schools will participate in the written examination, which will feature multiple-choice questions in 21 examination centers.

Following this, the Stage 2: State-Level Examination is scheduled for October 2024, where each participant will attend a three-day course in Kohima. The students will be mentored by experts from PARAKH, NCERT, New Delhi.

The initiative, conducted in collaboration with the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development), is part of NBSE’s efforts to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Nagaland, marking the board’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

1. Promoting STEM education: Encouraging students to develop a deeper interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
