The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) conducted a four-day umpire course from September 7 to 10 at the Nagaland Cricket Academy, Sovima, to strengthen cricket officiating in the state.

A total of 25 candidates from various districts across Nagaland participated in the course.

The course was conducted by Jayapal P, a BCCI-qualified umpire, who provided guidance on the technical and practical aspects of cricket umpiring.

The programme covered the Laws of Cricket, umpiring procedures, decision-making, match situations and the responsibilities of match officials. It also provided participants with exposure to professional standards of officiating.

The NCA said the course was part of its efforts to build capacity and develop human resources for cricket in Nagaland. Such programmes are aimed at creating a stronger pool of qualified officials to support cricket at various levels in the state.

The course concluded on September 10 at the Nagaland Cricket Academy, Sovima.
