Mokokchung, 16 April (MTNews): In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Mokokchung, the NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC raised concerns over the accusations leveled against them. It expressed shock and dismay at what they deemed as baseless allegations intended to tarnish the party’s reputation.
Moa Imchen, the General Secretary of NPCC, petitioned the Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland, highlighting purported plans of “booth capturing” by NDPP-BJP supporters in certain constituencies, including 29 Jangpetkong AC. However, the NDPP vehemently denied these claims, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring free, fair, and peaceful polls in the constituency.
Labeling the allegations as a “well-calculated strategy” by the Congress party to malign their image, it accused the Congress of having “malicious intention to gain unfair advantage by creating fear psychosis in the minds of the electorate.”
While condemning such “cheap and malafide” political maneuvers, the office of the NDPP 29 Jangpetkong AC appealed the DC & DEO Mokokchung to notify the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee to produce proof and substantiate their allegation before the polling date.
The NDPP urged the authority to treat this matter with utmost seriousness and urgency stating, “If the NPCC fails to substantiate their allegation against us, we will be compelled to seek legal remedies.”
