Mokokchung, October 27 (MTNews): A new office for the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Phek Region was inaugurated by Chingwang Konyak, President NDPP Nagaland on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Phek HQ which coincided with the President’s organization tour of the state.

 

 

President Chingwang in his inaugural speech encouraged the party leaders and workers in all the five assembly constituencies under NDPP Phek Region to have better “coordination and understanding” to strengthen the party as a whole.

 

He also stressed on the commitment to a pre-poll alliance between the NDPP and BJP. According to him, the seat sharing formula in the 2018 general election was an experiment which turned out to be a huge success.
He also said that with or without a political solution, elections will come one day. He called upon the party workers to be prepared for an election that may come sooner or later.

 

The President’s entourage consisted of members of the Central Executive Board, Central Youth and Women organizations, MLAs of Phek district, Yitachu & Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, Former MP (Rajya Sabha) K. G. Kenye and others.

 

Following the inaugural function, the visiting officials had a formal program with the party workers in which Mosonyi Domeh, President Phek Region delivered the welcome address and welcomed the new leaders and members from other political parties who have joined the NDPP.

 

Meanwhile, in a major political development and a boost to the NDPP of 17th Chizami A/C, Vevoyi D Vadeo, a former President of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) and a prominent youth leader made his announcement of joining the party during his meeting with the NDPP party Chief Chingwang Konyak and other Central party officials at Pfutsero Town on the same day.

 

Sources said that hundreds of party workers from various political parties of the 17th Chizami A/C will be joining the party along with him although the names and designations were not announced during the meeting.
Vadeo said he joined the party to strengthen the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP president Chingwang Konyak.
