According to him, NEP 2020 addresses critical issues such as equitable access to Higher Education, bridging the gap between current and desirable learning outcomes with more impetus on cognitive skills, social and emotional skills.

He also mentioned that, more than the degrees, it is the knowledge that gives immense intellectual satisfaction and, therefore, it is the schools’ responsibility – both government and private, to provide holistic education to students so that they can efficiently discharge their duties to – themselves, the community, the nation and to humanity at large.

Noting that Kendriya Vidyalaya has emerged as one of the prestigious schools in the town, he stated that an institution must contribute towards empowering the community, and that it was heartening to learn the vision of the school which caters to the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees.

He applauded the school for providing the children of transferable Central Government employees such as Defence and Paramilitary personnel a common program on education, and for initiating and promoting experimentation and innovativeness in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education and the National Council of Educational Research and Training.

“Our objective about education is to excel as duty-conscious and decent citizens of India, keeping our motherland in mind and the feeling of nationalism up-front and to strive and contribute to the growth and development of our nation,” he added.

Mukhi also advised the students to “dream big” in life and “work hard” to achieve the goal for there is no shortcut to success. He urged the students to take guidance from parents and teachers in deciding the choices of their career ahead and develop the practice of building a strong will power.

He also urged the teachers to give their utmost best, for the growth and welfare of the school and most importantly for nurturing, moulding and upbringing the students, in spite of several shortcomings in terms of infrastructure and communication.
