DDOs and establishment officers told to ensure timely, complete and accurate submission; non-compliance to be viewed seriously
The Nagaland government has directed all departments to extend full cooperation to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged fraudulent drawal of multiple salaries, including salary along with life pension, from more than one source within the State government.
The directive was issued through a circular of the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department (PIMS Cell) dated September 3, 2026, asking departments to accord priority to any requisition, request or communication received from the SIT.
Departments have been instructed to furnish the documents and information sought by the SIT accurately and completely and within the stipulated timeframe.
The circular specifically directed Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and officers in charge of establishment matters to coordinate with the SIT and facilitate the timely collection, authentication and transmission of records.
The government also stressed that the confidentiality and integrity of documents and information shared during the investigation must be maintained, with proper custody of all records ensured.
It cautioned that any delay, non-compliance or incomplete submission could adversely affect the investigation and would be viewed seriously.
Heads of Departments have consequently been asked to personally ensure strict compliance with the directions.
The latest directive follows the constitution of the SIT to investigate alleged cases in which government employees may have fraudulently drawn multiple salaries, including instances involving salary and life pension being received from more than one government source.
