The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), in collaboration with the concerned department and tribal hohos, will be conducting joint inspections of the ongoing Foothills Road construction at any time. In light of this, contractor firms have been urged to “keep the worksite in readiness.”
Emphasizing the impartial nature of the inspection, NFHRCC stated that “as the ongoing Foothills Road construction is a people’s project, inspections will be carried out without any bias and prejudice according to the DPR specifications.”
However, the committee expressed concern over reports of some firms allegedly using “substandard materials” and, in certain areas, materials that are “not in consonance with the actual DPR.”
To ensure transparency and accountability, NFHRCC called on “every stakeholder, including the HOHOs and local CSOs in their specific divisions, to give their kind cooperation during the inspection period.”
