The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) launched the first phase of the 2-lane Foothills Road construction on January 6, 2025. The program, held at Sungkhatchu River, saw participation from local Civil Society Organizations, representatives of apex tribal Hohos, and divisional departmental officials.

The first phase includes the construction of a 50-ft double-lane galvanized steel bridge over River Sungkhatchu, Baghty Division, and roadwork spanning 8.5 km of double-lane and 21 km of single-lane roads between Tuli and Naganimora, launched simultaneously.

The project, as per work orders issued by the NPWD (Roads & Bridges), will be executed by M/S P. Mha-Tum & Co. and M/S 3S Infra, with an allocated budget of Rs. 2.04 crore and Rs. 14.67 crore, respectively.

The Committee also urged upon to all the contractors Firms who had already signed the Implementation Agreement with NFHRCC to immediately start the construction works at the earliest.
