Mokokchung, 30 September (MTNews): NHIDCL officials led by Mahmood Ahmed, Managing Director, had a cursory meeting with TR Zeliang, Deputy Chief Minister and minister in-charge of PWD (National Highways), Nagaland at his official residence. NHIDCL said that they engaged in “extensive conversation over numerous topics and expressed concern over the state’s road construction.”
“With improved coordination and assistance between NH (NPWD) and NHIDCL, the work will advance successfully,” NHIDCL said in an update. There is an inclination for favorable outcomes regarding the several ongoing projects that will be successfully finished in the near future, it added. Earlier, the NHIDCL MD also surveyed the Kohima Bypass Package-2.
The NHIDCL officials along with Deputy Commissioner of Chumukedima, Abhinav Shivam, inspected the Dimapur-Kohima four lane highway. The officials from NHIDCL included Managing Director Mahmood Ahmed and Executive Director Amarinder Singh. Speaking to the media, Amarinder Singh said 600 crores rupees is proposed for a stretch of 46 kms under package 1 and 2.
Singh further assured that all safety measures has been put in place and NHIDCL will be proposing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) regarding the slopes and landslides along the highway.
Meanwhile, TR Zeliang also said that they deliberated and shared concerns on a wide range of subjects concerning road development in the State. “With better coordination and support between the NH (NPWD) and NHIDCL, works will progress in the right direction. We are confident that many works which have been under progress for years will be completed soon with quality,” he said.
