It further informed that the decision was taken in accordance with a meeting between government officials and NIDA officials on November 4 and also after it was thoroughly examined at an emergency general body meeting of NIDA on November 6.

“Following the assurance given by the government, the present Cease Work Agitation is being called off with immediate effect,” it stated.

Meanwhile, NIDA expressed its regrets for the inconveniences caused to the public and to the patients in particular during their agitation, and has thanked all the civil society organizations, NGOs, well-wishers, individuals and groups for their support.

It also thanked the state government for their ‘accommodative spirit’ and offering the assurance. However, NIDA reminded that it “will not stay idle until the matter is brought to a logical conclusion within the stipulated time.”
