Mokokchung, August 24 (MTNews): The National TB Elimination Program, Mokokchung conducted a short ceremony led by Dr. Aonungdok, Dy. CMO & DTO In-charge on Wednesday at District TB Centre, Mokokchung and launched Nikshay Mitra, an initiative of GoI. Nikshay Mitra is a government project that enables people to adopt tuberculosis patients and take care of their nutritional and medical requirement.
During the event, he highlighted that this activity was initiated by the then District TB Officer Dr. Tiameren. He acknowledged all the Nikshay Mitras for willingly coming forward and donating generously the nutrition supplements for TB patients in Mokokchung District and he also requested the Nikshay Mitras to sustain the nutritional support in days to come.
Dr. Toshila Jamir, SMO Chest Diseases & TB Hospital Mokokchung, who was also present during the event, spoke on the importance of Nutritional Support and adherence to treatment.
This was followed by distribution of nutritional support by Nikshay Mitras.
