The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has expressed profound grief over the untimely demise of veteran journalist Imna Longchar, Correspondent of The Frontier Manipur and former staff of Nagaland Post.
In a condolence message issued by its Communications Department, the NPCC described Longchar as “a dedicated and fearless journalist who upheld the highest standards of ethical reporting.” The party acknowledged his life’s work in journalism, particularly his contributions in “bridging narratives between Nagaland and the wider North East,” stating that he would be remembered “with deep respect and admiration.”
“His commitment to truth, integrity, and the voice of the people made him a respected figure in the media fraternity across the region,” the NPCC noted.
Extending “heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and media colleagues,” the NPCC added, “May they find strength and solace in the legacy he leaves behind.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader and National Coordinator of the AICC Minority Department (In-Charge of Manipur), Rajesh Kumar Sethi, also joined in mourning the loss of the veteran journalist. In his message, Sethi recalled Imna Longchar as a media professional known for his “unwavering commitment to ethical journalism and his significant contribution to the media fraternity of Nagaland and the Northeast.”
“His professionalism, integrity, and dedication to truth will always be cherished and serve as an inspiration to many,” Sethi stated, adding, “I extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues, and pray for strength and courage to overcome this immense loss.”
Sethi also offered prayers “for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.”
