Kohima, December 16 (MTNews): NPCC today held its Extended Executive Committee meeting at Congress Bhavan Kohima.
Addressing the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Extended Executive Committee meeting today at Congress Bhavan Kohima, NPCC President K. Therie stated that defeat and humiliation in a fair election is more bearable than MLAs defecting after being elected on the Party ticket.
Therie also told the meeting that selection of candidates would be decentralized to the Assembly Constituency Congress Committees (ACCCs) and that the party rank and file should go to the grassroots with the issues confronting Naga society today and the proposed solutions the Congress has to offer.
An update from the Communications Department of NPCC also informed that the well represented meeting decided to prepare the party for the upcoming 2023 General Election and also expressed happiness over the AICC’s assurance of its support in this regard.
Further, directives were issued and a preliminary draft of the Party’s Manifesto was also discussed. The meeting also decided for the party to be open towards a secular front in the interests of the people.
The Extended Executive Committee meeting saw representation and participation in the discussions from the District Congress Committees, Frontals and party leaders including former Chief Minister KL Chishi, former minister Zachilhu Vadeo, and rank and file of the NPCC.
