Kohima, December 16 (MTNews): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday launched the Nagaland State Disaster Management Information System (NSDMIS) and Decentralized Relief Payout System (DRPS) at the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex, Kohima.

 

 

The Decentralized Relief Pay-out System (DRPS) is developed with an aim to provide easy access of relief services to the citizens and to mainstreaming instant and timely relief payment systems for the affected community.

 

According to an update by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), the NSDMIS is a unique software, a first-of-its-kind in India, which has been developed to simplify the core operations of NSDMA.

 

Core operations include keeping record of disasters and fund assistance to disaster affected people, keeping track of weather patterns to anticipate and mitigate disasters and all aspects related to disaster, disaster reduction and mitigation in line with global frameworks such as Sendai and Hyogo Frameworks.

 

On launching the NSDMIS and DRPS, Rio said that it is a seamless relief payment software platform using blockchain technology. He said that NSDMIS is a unique software which will simplify the core operations of Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) on a digital platform and DRPS will enable timely relief payment to the affected.
