The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has served a 7-day ultimatum to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, demanding the issuance of a corrigendum to the state government’s transfer and posting order dated April 13, 2025—Palm Sunday.
In a letter submitted to the Chief Secretary, NPCC President and Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), S. Supongmeren Jamir, stated that the transfer order issued on a significant Christian holy day was insensitive to the religious sentiments of the Naga Christian community. The NPCC had earlier submitted a formal application on April 24, 2025 (Ref: NPCC/Admin-23/2015), appealing for a correction of the date, but claimed that no action had been taken.
“The NPCC, hereby, serves 7 days ultimatum… In the event of failure on your part… the NPCC shall be compelled to resort to its own course of action to do justice to the Christians among the Nagas,” the letter warned.
