Kohima, 19 June (MTNews): Following the cancellation of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) Combined Technical Services Examination (Engineering Services) 2023 Civil Engineering (Diploma) Paper-I and Paper-II, the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has submitted a representation today to the NPSC, urging them to reconduct the examination for the Civil Engineering (Degree) paper.

Meshenlo Kath, the convenor of CTAN, stated that the association was compelled by numerous aspirants to approach the NPSC and request a fresh examination. It may be recalled that the CTAN had previously filed a complaint regarding the “copy-pasting” of questions from previous years’ question papers.

CTAN revealed that the Civil Engineering (Degree) exam for the Combined Technical Services Examination (CTSE) had replicated 76 questions out of a hundred from the Common Educational Service Examination (CESE) conducted in December 2022. Aspirants who sat for the CTSE expressed concerns over the nature of the questions, noting that many required calculators for numerical calculations that could not be done manually. This raised doubts about the quality and fairness of the examination question papers.

Nevertheless, there are aspirants who do not support the idea of “reconducting” the exams. The NPSC’s decision on this matter is still pending and has not been announced yet.
