The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has expressed its sympathy and condolences on the loss of their comrade Lieutenant (Posthumous) Sentilong Jamir from the Ao region of the General Headquarters, Naga Army.

According to a statement from Lieutenant General Wungyip-MM, Adjutant General of the Naga Army, Jamir was captured by Kuki National Army (B) forces on May 11, 2024, while on routine duty at the Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong district, Manipur. He was subsequently tortured to death on May 13, 2024, at Myothit.

“His courage, dedication, and sacrifice for the nation and its values will forever be remembered with the highest honor,” stated Lieut. Gen Wungyip-MM.

Lieut. Jamir, son of Aochuba Jamir from Akhoya village in Mokokchung District, Nagaland, enrolled in the Naga Army on November 5, 2019.

“The Naga Army, with the Longvibu, extends our heartfelt condolences to the family in this time of profound sorrow. Your loved ones’ embodied the finest qualities of Naga Army, and his heroic actions will never be forgotten,” added the Adjutant General of the Naga Army.

“We are committed to ensuring that his service and heroism is remembered and that his legacy will forever be etched in the annals of Naga nation and continue to inspire the future generations,” the statement continued.

“May the soul of our fallen hero rest in eternal peace, and may his family find solace in knowing that their loved ones’ sacrifices have contributed to the greater cause of our nation. The Naga Nation proudly salutes this great son of the soil. May the Lord rest his soul in eternal peace,” it added.
