Mokokchung, 17 May (MTNews): The NSCN-IM Sumi Region has prohibited the transportation and sale of alcohol, drugs, and contraband substances such as sunflower, cough syrup, ganja, and banned gutka, as well as the procurement of unregistered vehicles and vehicles without valid documents within the Sumi Region. This information was provided in a press release issued by the MIP of NSCN-IM on Friday.

It was further informed that, with the arrival of the wildlife breeding season, the NSCN-IM Sumi Region has initiated a prohibition on hunting and fishing using electrical machines such as dynamos, generators, explosive devices, and poisonous chemicals. The extraction of minerals from river belts and the burning of jungles have also been banned.

Furthermore, national workers of the Sumi Region have been instructed to furnish assignment orders from the government before executing their assigned duties. Failure to comply with this order will result in undesirable consequences as per the Azah of the NSCN/GPRN, it was added.

These measures have been implemented “with deep concern for the people of Sumi Region,” according to the statement.
