The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) of the NSCN-IM held its Leacy Hoho Session on March 7, 2025, where it adopted two key resolutions concerning wildlife preservation and workforce regulation in the region.
According to a press release issued by the MIP, NSCN/GPRN, the first resolution was “to pass law to preserve wildlife.” To achieve this, the WTR has decided to “invite all Tangkhul civil society organizations in order to come out with the best workable law to protect and preserve the wildlife in WTR.”
The second resolution aimed at regulating the increasing number of non-Naga workers in the region. The WTR has decided “to control increasing workforce of non-Nagas in WTR” by “not issuing new work permits.” However, the statement clarified that “the permit holder would get their work-permit renewed if so desire.”
