The NSCN-K (Niki) has issued a stern warning to nightclubs, bars, lounges, and alcohol-serving restaurants in Dimapur, prohibiting the employment of individuals less than 18 years of age. This directive aims to address the exploitation of minors under the guise of employment opportunities.

According to the group, underage boys and girls are being exploited in the pretext of giving employment opportunities. Therefore, night clubs, bars and lounges including restaurants selling alcohol in Dimapur have been warned not to entertain or allow entry to any customer who is underage.

“This warning comes into immediate effect and the NSCN/GPRN shall conduct strict and regular checking in the above mentioned places and severe action shall be initiated against the management/owner of the place found with underage customers,” stated the group’s MIP through a press statement.

It also informed that any underage boys and girls found inside those places shall be released only with the intervention of the parents who will be made to sign a bond.

“All over the world, night clubs, bars and lounges or restaurants selling alcohol maintains certain terms and conditions and accordingly, bans underage boys and girls from entering such places, but, it is very disheartening to notice that such places in Dimapur are filled with boys and girls below 18 years of age. Such a trend is having very bad influence over teenage boys and girls and are enticing them to indulge in activities which will not only destroy themselves but the society at large,” it said.

The NSCN/GPRN said that they shall not remain silent but will take appropriate measures to curb such unethical activities and reiterates that this warning comes into immediate effect.
