The NSCN-U (Mhathung-Kitovi) group has asserted that it has received full support from all Naga regions during the celebration of the 78th Naga Independence Day on August 14, 2024. According to a statement issued by the group’s Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), a strong resolution was passed by the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland/National Socialist Council of Nagaland (GPRN/NSCN) to endorse the collective leadership of key figures within the organization.

The resolution reaffirmed support for Major (Retd.) RM Lotha, President of GPRN; Chennyeim Konyak, Vice President of GPRN; N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser of GPRN; and Jungshiwati Ao, Deputy Ato Kilonser of GPRN. The MIP stated that officials representing various Naga regions were in full agreement with this resolution.

The officials who pledged their support include Seyei Angami (RAO, Angami Region), Wapang Ao (Supervisor, Ao Region), Mongnei Konyak (RAO, Konyak Region), Lulin (Supervisor, Kuki Region), Heto Kiba (RAO, Sumi Region), Pulang (RAO, Khiamniungan Region), Renben Lotha (RAO, Lotha Region), Kuhoto (RAO, N.S.S.R.), Hamnyei Phom (RAO, Phom Region), Khaseo Sangtam (Supervisor, Sangtam Region), Hevito Yepthomi (Chairman, UT-1), and Kiumusu (RAO, Yimkhiung Region).

In their resolution, the GPRN/NSCN officials expressed their commitment to the collective leadership and pledged to uphold the Agreed Position signed on 17 November, 2017 between the GOI and WC, NNPGs and to actively strive towards nurturing peace and harmony and secure a brighter future for the upcoming young Naga generation.
