The State is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, with cloudy skies across almost all districts, until April 24, 2025. These showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas. Notably, Tuensang district is likely to experience heavy rainfall on April 20 and 21.

Given these forecasts, it is important to take necessary precautions to avoid risks related to lightning strikes and strong winds, which may disrupt communication and connectivity. Due to the possibility of high precipitation in hilly areas, the State’s lowland and foothill districts—including Dimapur, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Bhandari, Baghty, Tizit, and Tuli—are particularly vulnerable to waterlogging and flash floods.

In light of this, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Agency (NSDMA), Home Department, urges the public to remain vigilant and take preventive measures to avoid any untoward incidents during this period. The NSDMA also requests all District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and relevant line departments to stay on high alert to ensure the safety of lives and property during the monsoon season.
